Closer to our farmers, closer to our values...

We wanted to share some news we’re really excited about: from this week, our chicken will be coming from a small regenerative farm — the same one that already raises the lamb and pork you know and love from us.

Up until now, we’ve sourced from Inglewood Organics, who have been fantastic partners. They’re certified organic, ethical, and their birds are well cared for. We’re grateful for everything they’ve brought to our shop and community.

But our gold standard has always been to support small regenerative farms wherever we can. Farms where we know the farmers personally, walk the paddocks, and build close, ongoing relationships. Until now, that wasn’t possible with chicken — but this farm has been able to come in at the same cost per kilo, which means we can finally make the switch without raising prices.

Here’s what makes this new partnership special:

  • Regenerative farming practices – with a focus on soil health, biodiversity, and animal wellbeing.

  • Chemical free, no antibiotics – their chickens are raised naturally, with none of the interventions often used in larger systems.

  • No vaccines used – while organic standards allow vaccinations (something we’ve never had an issue with), we know some of you prefer unvaccinated birds.

  • Certified-organic values, and more – all the same boxes ticked as certified organic, with the added benefits of regenerative practices.

  • One farm, many connections – you already enjoy their lamb and pork, and now you’ll be able to enjoy their chicken too.

One small note: while we’ve made the change in supply right away, the labels on our chicken will take a few weeks to catch up. Especially in shops..

For us, this change isn’t just about chicken. It’s about our plight to always do better whenever we can, and supporting small-scale growers who are caring for land, animals, and people in ways that will last.

We’re so proud to make this move.

With gratitude,
Till & Scott
The Good Farm Shop

You are doing such a great job guys.
I get my meals from an Organics shop… but not a wide variety. Do you service Yarramundi, between Richmond & Springwood,NSW?
Also, I haven’t seen any of your fabulous posts Till, on fb lately. Are you ok? X
