  • Introducing... Kim’s Keen on Green

    Aug 18, 2026

    Hi I'm Kim,

If you've been ordering from us for a while, chances are I've replied to an email or two. I take care of the customer service, order logistics, general admin and anything else Til and Scott need me to attend to. (Til wrote a blog a while back on how I came to work at The Good Farm Shop, here it is for those interested).

I try to live each day with sustainability in mind, and along the way I often come across interesting ideas, businesses and products, as well as good-news stories from the world of sustainability. I thought some of these might be of interest to our Good Farm family too. My intention isn’t to flog particular products or preach in any way – it’s really just a place to think out loud and share the things that catch my attention as I oscillate between feeling hopeful and, at times, pessimistic about the future of our home, planet Earth.

What’s really caught my attention lately are the confronting images of drought and wildfires affecting so many parts of Europe. Rivers have fallen so low that sunken WWII ships are being revealed in the Danube, where water levels have reached their lowest in 30 years (source: BBC). And with forecasts around the 2026 El Niño tracking into uncharted territory, I sometimes find myself feeling overwhelmed – but equally angry, wondering how the heck we got here.

Naturally, I turn to Instagram for a little distraction (not recommended, and only after working hours, of course), where I recently came across a post from the Jane Goodall Institute Canada. In it, the wonderful Jane reminds us that every single one of us makes an impact on the planet, every single day – and that collectively, those choices can make a difference. She encourages us to question what we buy and eat: Where did it come from? Was it ethically produced? Did its production harm the environment?

Living sustainably isn’t always easy or convenient (except if you’re buying Good Farm Shop meals!), and there’s really no sugar-coating it – our future depends on the choices we make today. I’m looking forward to sharing more of the interesting ideas, discoveries and good-news stories I come across. I hope you’ll join in and get Keen on Green too 😊
