Why We’re Updating Our Prices – and What It Means for You

At The Good Farm Shop, our mission has always been simple: to make good food — ethical, nourishing, and delicious — accessible to our community while supporting local farmers and producers who share our values.

From time to time, we need to review our prices to ensure we can continue doing what we do sustainably. As of 22nd of Oct, there will be a 5% price increase across our range.

We wanted to take a moment to explain why this change is necessary — and how it helps us continue serving you well.

1. Supporting Farmers and Fair Wages

We’re proud to work with a network of incredible local farmers, butchers, and producers — and we believe they should be paid fairly for the quality and care they put into their work. Like many small businesses, they’ve seen costs rise across the board — from feed and seed to fuel and packaging.

This modest price adjustment ensures we can continue buying from them at fair, sustainable prices — helping keep small-scale agriculture alive and thriving.

2. Supporting Our Team

Behind every meal, box, and delivery is a team of passionate people who care deeply about what we do — from our packers and drivers to our kitchen and customer support crew.

Our wages need to reflect the rising cost of living and to ensure our staff are supported and valued in their work. Maintaining fair pay and good working conditions is something we’ll never compromise on — and this small price increase helps us continue to take care of the people who take care of you.

3. Rising Costs and General Inflation

Like many small Australian businesses, we’ve been navigating a steady increase in operating costs. Energy, fuel, ingredients, rent, and packaging have all become more expensive due to inflation and supply chain pressures.

We’ve absorbed these increases wherever possible, streamlined processes, and improved efficiency. But to keep delivering the same quality and service you expect, we need to make this small, considered adjustment.

4. Continuing to Deliver Quality and Care

Our promise has always been to do things the right way — never cutting corners, always prioritising integrity and quality. Periodic price updates allow us to stay true to that promise, ensuring you always receive food that’s thoughtfully sourced, prepared with care, and delivered with respect for both people and planet.
